How to rig your speargun with monoline:
- Cut the monofilament line at an angle to make it easier to thread through the crimp.
- Thread a crimp onto the mono, then thread the mono through the hole on the shaft.
- Feed the tag end of the mono back through the crimp and burn the tag end to create a small “blob.” This acts as a safety measure to prevent the line from pulling through the crimp. Make sure the shaft can enter and exit the trigger mechanism easily, without chaffing the mono line.
- Crimp the sleeve in the centre first, then the front and rear sections.
- With the spear loaded into the gun, feed the mono from the rear of the spear, over the muzzle, and down to the line release.
- Use the second crimp to attach to the muzzle bungee. Ensure there is enough tension to keep the line securely on the line release.
